Before we traveled to Morocco, we spent a few days in Germany with my dad to celebrate his 83rd birthday. He lives in our family’s ancestral region of Baden in the very south-west of Germany. The region includes the Black Forest mountains and the Lower Rhine valley.

This was the first time we had taken the new non-stop Lufthansa connection between RDU and FRA, and it worked out very nicely for us. The flight arrives very early in the morning in Frankfurt, so immigration is not as backed up as later in the day.
